Global D Sports Shines at the 2026 Rolex Shanghai Masters
2026.10.18

As the October autumn breeze once again drifts over Shanghai's Qizhong Tennis Center, and the magnolia roof opens slowly amid shifting light and shadow, the 2026 Rolex Shanghai Masters continues to deliver captivating clashes.

The Rolex Shanghai Masters is one of only nine ATP 1000 Masters events worldwide, and the lone ATP 1000 tournament in Asia. Next in status only to the four Grand Slams and the ATP Finals, it is one of the most prestigious men's tennis events in Asia. This edition featured a 96-player men's singles draw and a 32-team men's doubles draw, with 1,000 points on offer to the champion.

The LED display system covering every core area of the venue throughout the tournament was provided by De World Sports, a company with more than twenty years of deep experience in global sports-venue display and a track record of service at many major international events.

For the Shanghai Masters, De World Sports built a full-scenario display solution: from the continuous curved ribbon screen wrapping the base of the grandstand around the 10,000-plus-seat center court, to the vertical scoreboards positioned behind the baseline directly in viewers' sightlines, to the outdoor four-sided LED screens at the player tunnel entrances and in the spectator rest area on the plaza outside the venue — display equipment of varying sizes and specifications across the entire site had completed site surveying and installation one month before the event, and three full rounds of all-scenario commissioning were completed one week before play. During the tournament, De World Sports' professional engineering team provided 24/7 on-site support, ready to respond to any urgent request and ensuring the equipment ran reliably and continuously throughout the event.

After the evening session, the center arena hosted its annual special occasion — "Federer's Great Friends Night." First up was a celebrity edition of "One-Shot-to-Win": Roger Federer, Li Na, Marat Safin and Dinara Safina, joined by well-known models Qu Ying and Jin Dachuan, Chinese tennis legend and China national team coach Wu Di, and former world No. 1 and 54-time doubles champion Paul Haarhuis. The eight guests took turns in the fun, single-shot contest, with Haarhuis eventually taking the honours — giving the fans on hand a different kind of tennis fun.

Then came the main event: the legendary mixed-doubles exhibition! Federer paired with Chinese tennis great and two-time Grand Slam singles champion Li Na, taking on the "sibling duo" Marat Safin and Dinara Safina, who have both reached world No. 1. Four tennis legends shared the court, with crisp coordination and sharp rallies in turn; in the end, the Federer/Li Na pairing emerged on top.

The fun didn't stop there. Buoyed by the crowd's roaring support, a bonus match was arranged on the spot: Federer and Safin — former teammates who had previously won together at the 2001 Gstaad event in Switzerland — reunited to face the women's doubles pair of Li Na and Safina. The back-and-forth between the men's and women's doubles teams pushed the atmosphere to a new peak, with the Li Na/Safina pairing taking the extra match, adding one more highlight to a night full of laughter and surprises. During the group photo on court, one spectator told an interviewer: "I was sitting pretty far back, but I could see the expression on Federer's face on the big screen clearly — exactly as I remembered from watching him play more than a decade ago. The display is incredibly clear."

This clear, stable display setup not only gave the tens of thousands of fans who made the trip to Shanghai an immersive on-site experience, but also delivered an engaging viewing experience to tennis fans around the world watching the broadcast. Its clear display earned broad recognition from the event organisers, the crowd, the competing players and the rightsholders, and became one of the most beloved and memorable highlights of the 2026 Rolex Shanghai Masters — alongside the on-court drama itself.
